Another Policy which might fail

Similar to the one GCC Monetory currency, this is bound to fail, due to ego within the GCC countries to control monopoly.

Can happen. Will Happen.

Remember Europe will never be united in 50s, 60s, 70s? How about one Germany? Divided USSR? No? I guess you don’t know anything about history. Nobody said Visa thing would happen tomorrow. If you have a visa from France you can not use it in UK and they have a single EU passport. EU monetary policy still is work in progress. UAE and other Gulf countries are trying to do a job, that took Europe more than 1000 years and USA more than 300 years, in 20 years or less. So cut them some slack and get out of their way. You guys sound like that you want this visa to happen but are pessimistic about it. Just have a faith. This may make me want to visit one of these countries.

unified gcc visa

just a statement to make headlines in the local and international newspapers to give a boost to the gloomy situation in the gulf it seems.

I agree with Marlow

You are right Marlow, this will never happen in a million years. It is like talking about residency/passports etc for other nationalities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc. Another one that will never happen. The GCC countries agree on very little as it is. This has been made worse by the single currency debacle.

no way

i understand this will not work. its just another gloomy sentence in the newspapers by these higher-ups. Take it the GCC monetory union, all know what happened at the end. Before coming up with a plan there is a need for a feasibilty study on the subject, but the problem with these people is that they just issue a statement without head and tails, realizing later or never that this wasnt the case.

Single Visa for GCC

This is an excellent idea! and hope it can be implemented soon. Also a single visa for GCC residents hopefully can be made available.

Thank you.

GCC Common Visa Area

This is an excellent idea and lots of people want to see the region where they are living, in particular the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which makes up such a large proportion of the GCC area. This should be used to encourage legitimate business and social exchanges of experience between the Member States. I for one would be very interested to visit KSA, having lived here for over 20 years and still not had a reason to do so. With the aid of technology and regulations it can only be a positive and time/cost effective move in every way.

SINGLE VISA IN GCC AND SINGLE CURRENCY

There is no connection between single currency and single visa. Since there is a basket of currency where in u can transact within the GCC and many of the currency are pegged to Dollar and the other currencies which are not pegged the fluctuation is very less. The day common currency it is very good. Travel and Trade will move faster with Single visa within GCC. Though some countries give multiple entry visa for certain categories . Many relatives o expartriates are living in various GCC countries tourism can also get a boost as we are always ready to travel.

Single Visa without Single Curreny

Already GCC have major conflict in Single Currency among Member Countries, without resolving this issue taking further to GCC Visa wouldn't yield a fruitful results.

Today Geography is history

Moving between the countries with ease will promote freedom of mind to travel to GCC it becomes countries with borders beyond the country. World has shrunk by easing rules. GCC can benefit a lot by this move.

Yeah right

OK so me, as a resident, will be allowed to travel freely into KSA anytime I want to? Yeah sure, of course that will happen.....not!

Single GCC visa

If this becomes reality, it will boost the travel industry in the region with airlines & hotels gaining the most as expats (most have relatives in GCC) would be able to move around the GCC.

The Single Currency is out of context in this Article. The free movement of GCC visitors will increase economic impacts and leverage the balance of cultural differences. The Free movement will assist the visors and in the end contribute inc haring the bigger cake of tourists among all GCC members.I hope they implement this, as with what I think it will be like Europe with UK(Schengen VISA) where you can move all over except UK.Lets hope Egos dont take its Toll.

Only for Gulf citizens and foreign residents

So its not for everyone only for Gulf citizens and foreign residents, so which means most of us don't really have to worry if it's approved or not.
