visa charges in oman & UAE
Posted by samir kale at 15:28 UAE time
As a regular travel from oman to dubai it is very difficult to understand that the UAE goverment is charging 185 dhs. where oman goverment is charging only 30 dhs. to enter in to the Oman.
is it not possible to have the similier charges accros the GCC for residence to enter ohter GCC country.
One more point is that every time we go to dubai we have eye checking i dont for what becuase once you to eye checking it has to registered in the computer.
it is really unfair that we need to stand in a line where the proper shade is also not available to stand.
please try and do something UAE goverment.

Visit Visa for UAE
Posted by Amir Qayyum at 15:13 UAE time
Last Sunday a friend of mine was denied to travel to UAE from KSA as his profession was Sales Executive but by another airline on the very same day he travelled and got the visa at the Airport.
This makes it confusing as earlier it was not the case.
The UAE Authorities should clarify or should we think the Authorities are trying to make a fortune from the sky rocketing Visa Fee to tackle recession.

camaprison of Oman & UAE Visit visa Charges
Posted by Siraj at 14:43 UAE time
This is very strange that if an UAE residents visit OMAN he will pay AED 30/- only for adults. Children below 18 years are getting free 1 month visit visa. However Oman Resident visits to UAE with his family, how much he has to pay? He has to pay even the new born. Bravo, Oman Tourism Department!

Dual Visa for GCC
Posted by Punky Brewster at 14:32 UAE time
Why not approve ANY single GCC visa as valid to travel / leave / work in any of the GCC country? At present, only Tourist Visas are commonly issued to GCC residents, again, depending on the Visa Categories! But reducing the Visa Fees + Free Movement will make this region come out of recession Faster than the governments counting the revenues generated. Can U imagine what it would be like!! Of course, a 6-month Maximum stay should be imposed, and or a 6-month Max outside stay should be allowed for the country issuing the Original Residence Visa, as per current rules in UAE. I think it's in the right direction, and people can move jobs, if redundancy is around the corner, thereby saving Employers considerable time & money & effort to train new recruits. Hope it gets passed, and FAST, before we miss the opportunity, and the authorities keep thinking over it.

Dual residency
Posted by shan at 13:26 UAE time
Idea of dual residency is good but to boost economic situation a better idea would be to issue a common visa for GCC which will help free movement of people.
Second option is to reduce the visa charges (current Dhs 500 for 30 days) for expat residents to visit GCC countries.
If the second option is implemented with Dhs 50 / 100 as visa charges (GCC residents) & relaxed procedure for visit visa. The tourism, aviation & all other industries would see a upward jump of at least 50% more tourists.
This is the easiest option to lift the economic downturn & boost ties.
