Malls do not spend millions of dirhams on parking facilities so everyone can come and park for free. People here misuse things a lot without any conscience. Things have changed in Dubai and will change with the opening of the metro. Would you like if anyone used your parking space at the home or the office all day without paying for at and inconveniencing you in the process ? I should think not. Internationally, parking fees are charged by man malls / hotels and no one cribs and complains like they do here. Infact a lot of people who quietly pay up at home are the ones to create a ruckus here. And the malls are not responsible for Dubai Municipality or RTA's job of providing parking for metro users. RTA should have planned this whole thing better. Only a few stations have parking facilities. If you don't want to pay, don't pay and don't go but freebee days are getting over. Live with it. I don't know what MOE will finally charge but they can make the system simple. BurJuman does not charge during lunch or after 6 pm or on weekends and holidays. Whoever does not want to pay can easily find a timeslot that suits them in any mall. Boycotting malls is not the solution. There are very few places to go to anyway.

The idea to charge for parking is ridiculous, I will not be visiting the mall in that case, there are many alternatives and I'll take my money elsewhere. This is just another money grabing idea driven by greed and profit margin as is everything here.

First we had Salik...what did we get in return for the charge. nothing but more traffic jams. Metro is supposed to resolve the traffic headache. If there is no parking or paid parking near Metro stations, then I might as well drive to the office it will probably be cheaper. The psyche of taking and taking should stop. Give something back to the ordinary folks who after all make the economy turn.

Whether they charge one or hundred dirhams is irrelevant to me, i rarely visit malls, an absolute waste of precious time and hard earned money. Malls are a real rip off so wake up shopaholics.

It's quite simple to organise the paid parking in malls
Simply charge all cars for mall parking and those that can produce mall receipts, do not need to pay on exit and those that do not shop in the mall must pay the parking fee. Increase the parking fees to higher than the metro stations and this will encourage metro users to park at metro stations.

FIRSTLY PARKING PROBLEM & NOW METRO WOULD DEFENITLEY REDUCE DEMAND OF CARS,MY SUGGESTION TO AUTO CAR DEALERS IS WHY DONOT THEY BUILD FREE CAR PARKING BUILDING IN BUSY AREA AND PROVIDE FREE PARKING TO OWENER OF THEIR BRANDS WHOSE CARS ARE LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD THAT WAY THEY WOULD NOT ONLY CONTRIBUTTE TO COUNTRY BUT WOULD HELP AS WELL THEIR BUSINESS AND CUSTOMERS

Mall parking fees BurJuman

Since Burjuman started parking fees, I stopped going to that mall. I was big time fan ofBurjuman for regular small or big value shoppings. Since I am not sure evertime now, if i will end up buying short of requisite amount for free parking, I better not visit. But everytimt you go out to mall, you endup buying some stuff.

I really dislike going to MOE anyway and now I dislike it even more. It's simple really if they introduce parking fee's they will loose customers. It's been over a year since I went to Burjuman and all because of their parking fee system. Even if purchasing entitle's you to free parking, often you don't find what your looking for. Like many I'll go to Ibn Battuta Mall instead, as they won't be introducing parking fee's, they will benefit the most from all this.

Obviously RTA realised that the ticket fare is low, so they decided to take the money from our pockets in other way…!!
Where else in Dubai you could spend a weekend .. only in the Mall..!!, sorry not any more..
It will not be impossible when we read a news about Dubai is fixing a meter for how many breath you take, & you will be charged for it…!!

Add the cost of parking at the mall, to the price of your metro ticket, and I guarantee you RTA that no one will use your metro.
Even if people choose to leave their cars home, again you have the cost of a taxi PLUS the cost of a metro ticket, and again we reach the same conclusion.
UAE is a country where people CANT live without cars. Why hasnt RTA considered having a multistoryed, hightech parking building next to each metro station, like the ones we see in Japan and China..ones where your car gets lifted and parked in a tight space for a small fees. After all Dubai has the biggest of everything so why cant they be smart enough to forecast this potential problem of parking at malls?

simple really. Any mall that charges for parking will never see my business again. It is sheer unadulterated greed and avarice that looks to extract even more of the savings from our pockets. Let them whistle for my money!
