GLUM FUTURE

I think the future of the Middle East, will be more of the same, ie affluence for the oil rich countries, with litle social social responsibility or consciousness. Again, till many of the countries stop fighting like Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, there can be no quantum jumps in progress or human talent.

The Future of the Region -- the Middle East

Because of the enormous differences -- economic, cultural, religious and educational -- amongst the various countries and sub-regions that make up "the Middle East", I believe it is very difficult, if not impossible, to make any generalizations about "the region." Certainly the GCC countries, and particularly the UAE, presents one set of facts, whereas Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq & Syria, present quite a different set of facts.
