The concepts of Supply Chain Management and Logistics have been around since time immemorial.

It was recognised by the early traders when transporting their goods from far distant countries to the relevant markets. An example of such a supply chain was the famous Silk Route, which stretched form China to the Roman Empire more than 2000 years ago.

Today business is looking to reintroduce these concepts as the frustration with the functional approach mounts. Whilst the functional approach uses the division of labour approach, the Supply Chain and Logistics approach follows the process approach, cutting across functional barriers to achieve global in stead of local objectives.

This seminar is will deal with both the Supply Chain Management principle and the concept of logistics in such a way that delegates will be able to apply these techniques in their respective business environments.

The seminar will emphasise the practical implications of implementing a Supply Chain Management and Logistics approach in a company. The seminar will provide practical skills to take back to the workplace to enable delegates to change current methods and activities and work better with all supply chain stake holders.
