Master developer Nakheel has announced the opening of Al Furjan Club, the latest dining and leisure complex in its AED5 billion ($1.36 billion) hospitality expansion.

The club is the 10th to open in Nakheel’s rapidly-expanding portfolio of community clubs and restaurants across Dubai, with the developer saying that dozens more are in the pipeline.

Al Furjan Club features The Glasshouse restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating for 150 people, a 25 metre lap pool, children’s pool, sports court and fully-equipped gym with four fitness studios.

Located at the southern end of the Al Furjan community, the club is next to Al Furjan Pavilion, Nakheel’s retail and dining hub which opened last December. A mosque is also currently under construction. The complex has parking for 300 cars.

Thorsten Ries, managing director, Nakheel Hospitality, said: “We are proud to add Al Furjan to our expanding collection of community clubs, which have become an integral element of our developments across Dubai.

"We expect this new venue to be highly popular with members and guests, who now have a new destination for eating, relaxing, socialising and keeping in shape at this popular, fast-growing community.”

The Al Furjan community is already home to more than 5,000 people, with a projected population of over 65,000 when complete.

Al Furjan Club adds to already-operational Nakheel Clubs at Jebel Ali, Jumeirah Islands and Masakin Al Furjan. Clubs at Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Village, Warsan Village and Nad Al Sheba are also on the way. Nakheel also has an array of standalone restaurants at Palm Jumeirah and Jebel Ali, with more in the pipeline.
