A new survey has found that women hold the power when it comes to consumer spending, influencing 80 percent of all purchases in Dubai.
The survey, carried out by the Glasgow Consultancy Group, found that the vast majority of purchases are either directly by women, or influenced by them.
The results also found the preferred shopping location in the emirate is The Dubai Mall, followed by Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Batutta, City Centre Deira, Marina Mall and BurJuman.
The survey also found that women buy shoes every three to six months and watches, electronics and home furnishings once per year. It also found that 90 percent of women buy groceries once a week and purchase clothes, accessories, cosmetics and jewellery once a month.
The results of the survey, which a total of 250 women interviewed, were revealed at the Images Retail ME Forum in Dubai.
