Italian fashion brand eyes Gulf expansion

Galvanni says it is planning to open seven shops across GCC region by end of 2014

Italian fashion brand Galvanni said on Tuesday it has plans to open seven shops across the Gulf region by the end of 2014.

The retailer has made its Gulf debut by opening its first shop in Dubai Marina Mall following a franchisee agreement with Dubai-based H2 Fashion. 

Galvanni is an Italian fashion brand with polo heritage established since 1973. The company manufactures apparel, shoes and accessories for men and women.

Galvanni and H2 Fashion jointly aim to open more stores in major shopping malls in the Gulf, without naming specific locations in the region.

Hany Abu Omar, managing director, H2 Fashion, said: “We are delighted to represent this world class fashion brand in the UAE, Qatar and Jordan.

"This is the first shop we have opened in Dubai and have plans to open an additional six more stores in the Gulf before end of 2014.”

Simona Graniero, international sales manager, Galvanni added: “We wanted to establish presence in Dubai for a long time and we were waiting to find the right partner who would understand our brand value and positioning.

"We have chosen Dubai Marina Mall as the first store for Galvanni in the Gulf as the demographics of the mall visitors meet our customer profile aptly.”

Omar said: “Galvanni will trigger a huge demand by customers in the UAE due to the fact that Dubai represents an equestrian hub for the region will generate more demand to the polo fashion brand.”
