On behalf of a regional turnkey engineering contractor we are seeking anArea Managerto be based in the eastern province. Reporting to the Country Director you will be responsible for managing the development, growth, long term profitability and strategic direction of the assigned Area in accordance with corporate strategy.Responsible for all day to day financial, operational, HR, legal, and team management.
In order to ensure growth and dynamism, our client is expanding in to multiple geographies.The Area Manager is responsible for managing this expansion within a defined geography.The Area Manager provides leadership and management in a key geographic area and provides specific liaison with support functions in the corporate office in support of achieving Area sales and product mix targets (Proposal, Procurement, PMO, Corporate Business Units, Finance, HR, and Plant) so as to maintain high performance in the planning and execution of projects, whilst successfully promoting further business and gaining headway in the relevant markets. Successful marketing strategies, achievement of revenue objectives, excellent communication and development of present and potential contacts, management of resources and overseeing of synergy between geography and all Business Units and Support Functions, will establish the jobholder as a proponent ofvision through establishment as a crucial link between market, organization and clientele expectations.
The role requires constant communication with Executive Management, Business Units, and the Support Functions in order for potential and awarded work to be fully functional and provided for at all stages. Reporting to the Country Director. Externally the position entails creating and discovering market and business opportunities for our client and requires an understanding of the importance of networking and liaising, both internally and externally. Effective, orchestrated internal and external communications are essential for the business development oin order for set objectives and revenues to be realised.
This role chiefly involves making independent decisions concerning business and market implementation across the spectrum within the geography.The position preserves total final authority in the achievement of objectives and targets for the geography.Also responsible to report progress and current market situation to assure Country Director of excellence in standards and to ensure compliance with objectives and vision. The jobholder is responsible to maintain a full understanding of the market and to uphold in-depth, current awareness of needs for both current and potential clientele, thus greatly impacting on the future and company reputation
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Graduate degree Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent preferred.10 years practical sales experience in Foundation Engineering (Piling and Shoring and personnel management experience. Extensive technical and people management experience. Experience developing and managing partner and vendor relationships including developing joint ventures, Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office utilities. Excellent verbal and written English required, fluency in Arabic preferred.
Proven track record of generating business and ability to interface with internal department on the creation of tenders. Outstanding knowledge and practical experience of corporate methodologies and their application.General knowledge of Health and Safety issues. Exceptional communication up to and including a multi-cultural level.
