An engineering consulting firm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is looking for a Design/TechnicalManager to do the following:

You should be able to upgrade the Design Department in terms of setting procedures, standards, design manuals, specifications, Bill of Quantities, international as well as local standards and codes of practice required for the complete functional Design Department.

You will monitor the executions and performance of the Design Development.

You will manage the scope of work in relation to the established budgets to ensure that the scope of work is within the project budget.

You will establish deliverable deadlines and manage schedule for design team.

You will conduct Design Progress Meetings andensure production of complete and approved designs within the deadline.

You will evaluate the design of Civil, Landscape, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Plumbing etc for constructability.

You will provide code interpretation support throughout the development of the design.

You will participate in value engineering sessions for providing creative ideas, project scope and cost.

You will manage the architectural and other design scope for the projects as per the directives, objectives, and schedule, including functional program and scope, setting overall project schedule, developing architectural themes,landscape concepts, and preparing presentations.

You will develop program, design brief, and scope of work for the projects.

You wilI identify, investigate and assemble technical information and existing services data related to projects (environmental regulations, land use, building regulations, site surveys, existing conditions and utilities services) as well as related data for market studies and project start-up.

You will manage and facilitate design co-ordination across disciplines constantly during the development of the construction documents.

You will co-ordinate with project team members to ensure critical construction requirements are incorporated into the construction documents.

You will review clients' design submissions (drawings, reports and specifications) and advise on design alternatives and move forward.

You will manage a team of staff and liaise with internal divisions as well as external parties like clients, consultants etc throughout the design and execution process to achieve the goals set for the project.

You will create and maintain design phase schedule to ensure the development of the construction documents is completed in the designated time frames established from the inception of the project.

You will review the work of the Design Team at all stages of development and advise on progress.

You will review mock-ups, material samples and shop drawings submittals.

You will appoint suppliers and supervise for model production and other materials for marketing.
