Experience / Qualifications Needed

" Should have a Degree in Civil, Environmental or appropriate Engineering discipline with minimum of 8 years industrial experience of which 5 years in the field of planning and budgeting (preferably in the wastewater field)
" Should have an in-depth knowledge of the wastewater field (treatment and collection) including planning, design, construction, commissioning and rehabilitation
" Good working knowledge of Internationally recognized project management methodologies
" Practical working knowledge of PC-based planning tools including Primavera, Microsoft Project and Excel
" Experience and knowledge in preparation of lifecycle costs of projects is an added advantage
" In depth knowledge of budgeting methods used for projects and project controls
" Very good interpersonal and communication skills
" Excellent English Language skills and computer literacy
" Ability, initiative and confidence to work with minimum supervision
" Perform proactive analysis of project plans and project implementation to highlight Issues and Risks, potential delays to the responsible Project Engineer, Manager or Project/Program board


Our client is a government owned company formed to plan, execute and operate the wastewater collection, treatment and distribution system in the governorate of Muscat. They immediately require a Planning Engineer who reports matrix fashion to the PMO support via Head of Planning and to a site Project Manager or Planning Engineer. He/she is responsible for supporting the review of the planning and scheduling of projects. His/her main responsibility is to initiate, manage and carry out planning activities to support the optimization of development plans and schedules of projects. He/she is also to ensure effective input to ongoing projects through design reviews, plan reviews and by monitoring progress.
