My client was set up to undertake complete construction activities for industrial projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, other industrial sectors and related infrastructure fields, including power and water.
Based in Dammam, KSA and working across Saudi Arabia.
Construction services include complete coverage of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. Projects can include direct construction plus certain LSTK, LSPB and EPC contracts.
Prior experience includes oil refineries, gas plants, petrochemical complexes, fertilizer plants and similar industrial construction projects.

The Head of Mechanical Engineering will have overall responsibility for oversight of all issues associated with the mechanical integrity of Mainstream assets. In addition, the successful candidate will support the development, procurement, construction, trading and operations departments on mechanical engineering issues.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role include:
• Generally, support the development, procurement, construction, and operations teams in achievement of their objective
• Interfacing with and managing external consultants.
• Ensuring mechanical engineering activities are carried out to the highest quality standards and in accordance with the relevant health and safety standards.
• Producting technical summary reports for senior management.
• Assisting the Mainstream procurement team with pre-purchasing of long lead mechanical equipment as necessary rmechanical equipment associated with various projects
• Assisting with contract document preparation.
• Representing Mainstream at workshops and on technical panels.
• Assisting with technical design reviews of Contractor`s detailed designs.
• Reporting on compliance with relevant design code and contractual obligations.
• Auditing quality of the product during and post construction as necessary.
• Evaluation of new products from vendors to ensure that Mainstream contract documentation specifies the latest and best in class technologies.
Experience
The candidate must have extensive experience in mechancial contracting, preferably from an infrastructure background, eg oil and gas, (piplelines), power plants, water, etc
Degree qualified engineer, preferably chartered.
Candidates will be expected to be innovative thinkers and have a proven track record of working and succeeding at the highest level in a team-working environment.
