My client is a government owned company formed to plan, execute and operate the wastewater collection, treatment and distribution system in the governorate of Muscat. We immediately require a head of Electrical Section to join our team


Principal Accountabilities

• Manage Electrical section resources and activities and to ensure deliveries are met according to agreed targets in a professional, responsible and cost effective manner.
• Ensure continuous improvement and utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ensure electrical equipment are inspected and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner according to the best maintenance philosophies, procedures and practices.
• Develop systems, processes and working procedures for the section to support the continuous improvement effort.
• By use of performance indicators, monitor the quality and cost effectiveness of electrical section and identify opportunities to improve and utilization of innovative techniques/technology in support of operations.
• Identify frequent electrical failures (supported by the equipment history in CMMS) and prepare, if required, Field change proposals to solve the problems.
• Participate and provide inputs to commissioning activities on new assets against plan whilst ensuring that all HSE principles are applied.
• Identify and report operating variances outside the design limits and Technical Integrity problem.
• Prepare section's budget control the and monitor and same.
• Develop a highly competent and motivated Omani work force. Prepare staff reports, tasks and targets, development plans, training and leave schedules.
The preferred candidate will have the following:
. Degree inElectrical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical maintenance in wastewater treatment plants or modern process plants with at least 7 years in supervisory position.
• Good knowledge in High voltage operations and switchgears.
• Good knowledge in intelligent motor control, electronic overloadprotection relays, soft starters, Variable Speed Drives, Transformers and motors.
• Must have or held Senior Authorized Electrical person (SAEP) authority level.
• Have been involved in establishing working procedures and systems for different Electrical maintenance processes.
• Very good working knowledge with computers and CMMS such as MAXIMO or other similar system.
• Good IT and communication skills.
