My client is a government owned company formed to plan, execute and operate the wastewater collection, treatment and distribution system in the governorate of Muscat. We immediately require:

"Head of Mechanical Section"



Principal Accountabilities

• Manage mechanical section resources and activities and ensure deliveries are met according to agreed tasks and targets in a professional, responsible and cost effective manner.
• Ensure continuous improvement and utilization of Computerized Management system (CMMS)
• Provideinputs for the formulation of strategies and plans for asset management of mechanical equipment e.g. asset data, activity and schedule plans which covers the full life cycle of the plants, in keeping with the plant objectives and targets.
• Ensure that all mechanical assets areinspected, maintained or overhauled in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, according to best maintenance philosophies, procedures and practices
• Ensure all fabrication works and workshop activities are carried out according to best practices and procedures.
• By use of performance indicators, monitor the quality and cost effectiveness of the mechanical maintenance section, and identify opportunities to improve and utilization of innovative techniques/technology in support of operations.
• Prepare maintenance plans for all mechanical equipment in coordination with the planning section..
• Review all proposed changes to plant and facilities.
• Discuss operations problems and optimizations with operations department in coordination with the Head of maintenance.
• Identify and report operating variances outside the design limits and Technical Integrity problem.
• Identify frequent machine failure and breakdowns and prepare, if required, Field change proposals to solve the problems.
• Prepare section's budget and monitor and control the same.
• Develop a highly competent and motivate Omani work force . Prepare staff reports, task and Targets, development plan, training and leave schedules.

• Degree in Mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical maintenance in wastewater treatment plants or other process plants with at least 7 years in supervisory position.
• Good knowledge in preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, blowers, valves, gearboxes, diesel generators etc.
• Good knowledge in maintenance engineering practices like Condition Based Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Very good knowledge in Computerized Management System such us MAXIMO or similar system.
• Good IT and communication skills.
