Overview

To oversee and manage the development and design of a successful student guidance system in the School Operations Sector. To work with students to provide adequate support throughout their education.

Description
-Oversee the development and maintenance of an academic and career guidance system to facilitate all prospective students in locating study programs which are suitable for varying interests and talents;
- Ensure graduating student receive a variety of accurate information and advice in relation to local and international universities, careers and scholarship information;
- Manage and develop an efficient student counseling system to provide both psychological and social support and ensure there is sufficient capacity within the program to allow all users to benefit from the service;
- Manage and develop an efficient career counseling system in coordination with Labour Market Link to ensure students have updated information to provide assistance in choosing majors and to fill labour market needs;
- Ensure the support of the development of specialized youth and counseling centers for further academic and career guidance and devise support programs to address the problem of social issues (e.g. bullying, drug abuse etc.)
- Liaise with Student Guidance Section Manager in School Operations Sector to deliver career guidance induction sessions in particular to students in final year of secondary school education to provide detailed information on possible career paths;
- Oversee the production of information on the availability of a range of support services and relevant issues, and ensure first points of contact and escalation policies are well established;
- Ensure support programs are implemented efficiently and that each school has minimum one counselor per school and generally have adequate manpower needs in the Student Guidance Sector.Credentials

• A Bachelor Degree as a minimum in an Education discipline; • A Masters Degree in an Education discipline preferred. • 5+ years experience with at least 3 years in a managerial role; • Experience specializing in designing and developing career guidance programs; • Demonstrated ability in student counseling
