Electrical Site Technician - Fixed Term ( with possibility of permanent position )
Based in Libya working for an International Consultant
Job Purpose
Electrical Technician, responsible for all project and technical matters relating to the development of electrical installations, systems and operational equipment at the airport.
Providing technical support and ensureregulatory and company standards are met and that the operational effectiveness of the airports is maintained and improved through ongoing development.
Responsibilities
Assist the Project managementand contract managementteam.
Investigate and develop the project requirements, design and specifications to satisfy company and airport requirements.
Ensuring completion on programme and within budget.
Liaise with other staff in the Infrastructure Services Department involved in contract administration and projects, providing guidance, advice and instruction on requirements.
Assist in the operation of planned preventative maintenance schemes covering all electrical and mechanical installations, systems and equipment at the airports.Prepare and continually update plant schedules, maintenance job specification sheets and contract documentation.Monitor contractor performance and maintenance records and agree continual improvements and upgrades to the maintenance and recording systems.Advise on and implement remedial action or repairs required on equipment and systems as identified during the maintenance programme.
Undertake airfield lighting inspection at each airport.
Identify minor or major items requiring immediate or future remedial action, replacement or upgrade.
Ensure compliance with statutory, mandatory and regulatory standards and codes of practice on all projects, installations and related areas throughout the company.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Related discipline.
Experience
Several years relevant experience in the electricalengineering industry is required.
Several years experience of project supervision in a construction environment.
Specialist training required includes aviation ground lighting, high voltage distribution and safety regulations, IEE wiring regulations, boiler house installations, fuel storage, air conditioning, control systems and computing.
Computer literacy is a basic requirement with a good knowledge of standard packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel and a working knowledge of packages used in the construction industry such as Microsoft
