Our client, a leading multi-brand retailer for electronics, computer and telecom products and services, is seeking an experiencedMerchandise Manager to plan merchandise as per market trends, negotiate contracts with suppliers as well as generate revenue for the company.Your main responsibilities will include

Assistingthe management in planning a customer centric layout for the assigned merchandise division
Implementing G.U.E.S.T (Customer Service Program) principles while on the shop floor as a 'service ambassador'
Supporting pre- and post sales servicesby coordinating with supplierswith the goal of achieving 100% customer satisfaction
Providing highest levels of customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries directly or indirectly
Achieving the salesgross profitInventory control objectives for the assigned division
Achieving divisional business objectives for In-store advertising and promotional area concessions
Negotiating annual contracts and business terms with suppliers for the assigned merchandise
Negotiating promotional items for the merchandise sales promotional calendar with suppliers
Communicating with suppliers on a regular basis to update price lists, claim price compensations
Evaluating merchandise assortment and plan introduction of new linesphasing out of discontinued lines on a regular basis
Working according to the set business operating procedures as well as suggest improvements for the assigned division
Acting as the ambassador for best business practise, ethics and code of conduct and ensure that the business should be conducted with uncompromising honesty and integrity while dealing with suppliers
Also acting as ateam leader for the division, to lead the coordination with all stores, suppliers, and the warehouse for consolidation of POs.stock transfers and ensure timely availability of products as per store needs with the assistance of the merchandise assistant
Leading by example to ensure that staff are motivated and develop a professional retail work environment.
To qualify for this role you should have a Bachelor's degreediploma in business management with specialisation in marketingretail managementpurchase management and 6-7 years as a BuyerMerchandise Planner in a large retail organisation Speciality Electronics Chain Hypermarket with adequate exposure to retail operations and buying in a multibrand- multicategory electronics retail environment. You should also be well acquainted in working with MS Office packages and SAP. You should have good communication as well as interpersonal skills.
