Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager the role holder will be a senior professionally qualified engineer responsible for the review, analysis and improvement of all engineering processes and procedures currently in place within the client organisation. The Senior Facilities Engineer will, together with the client and our client, introduce best practice facilities engineering across all sites.
You will provide advice, support and guidance to the client and our client's senior management teams, all Facilities Engineers, clients' staff and building users. Design, coordinate and where necessary, carry out training sessions for our client, the clients and Subcontractors teams. Lead coach and manage a team of site based Facilities Engineers in the delivery of best practice facilities engineering solutions.
Design and introduce a long term Asset Life Cycle Management strategy for the efficiency, cost effectiveness and longevity of all fixed assets within client properties. Define the strategies and methodologies for the long term maintenance of all building fixed assets including maintenance methodologies and frequencies. Work, together with the client organisation and our client's senior management team, to introduce, and where necessary create, best practice policies and procedures for: Facilities Engineering - to include defining the strategies and methodologies for the long term maintenance of all building fixed assets including maintenance methodologies and frequencies, Health & Safety, Environment and Energy Management and Sustainability.
To create together with the Commercial Manager, the specifications for procurement of engineering services, performance management criteria for the monitoring and supervision of all Subcontractors, financial planning and modelling for forecasting the short, medium and long term financial requirements for engineering to all sites under our clients management. This to include forecasts for the cost of future asset replacement and calculations in support of repair/replace decisions.
You will also provide a consultancy service as required, during the design and construction phase, to ensure that facilities engineering operational issues are identified and highlighted. This to allow the project teams to make revisions to the development which will make the operation of the building more effective and less costly. Provide a consultancy service as required, during the commissioning and handover phases of new builds, renovations and minor new works, to ensure that the client receives assets in good working condition.
 To qualify, you will have 5 -10 years post degree experience of designing and/or developing and/or introducing planned preventative and reactive maintenance systems on multi-property or multi-site portfolios. Experience of management of the life cycle of assets from selection and installation, through to maintenance and eventual retirement and/or repair.
