Our client,is a market-leading and rapidly growing global provider of wireless network planning, optimisation and performance management products and services to mobile telecoms operators is currently seeking to recruitOSS Support and Deployment Engineer

You will be reporting directly to the Head of Regional Product Operations to be based in Dubai Internet City.

You will be part of the company International Product Services Business Unit and will deliver technical product support to regional customers (cellular operators) based in Middle East and Africa. You will be responsible for the installation and delivery of OSS(Operational Subsystem) software tools to customers, as well as being involvedwith the acceptance testing of these tools. This position requires a highly competent and dedicated person who is either already or who would like to pursue a career in the mobile telecom arena. This role will involve international travel.

Schedule of Responsibilities

Interfacing with the development team for quick resolution of defects.
Own the SR lifecycle to conclusion.
On-site installation and support, locally and internationally.
Working at customer sites for periods up to 1 month.
Some customer training.

New Product Releases

Perform system testing and acceptance testing of software tools.
Work as part of the team and assist with the on -time delivery of products to customers.
Installation of new releases at a customer site.

Pre-Sales Activities

Installation of trail software at customer sites.
Basic training and demonstration of trial software to potential customers.
Requirements capturing from time to time.

Communication - the ability to clearly express ideas, listen, adjust language or terminology to suit the needs of the audience.
Initiative - the ability to perform duties before being told to do so. This will require a self-starter who is proactive in trying to achieve business unit goals.
Teamwork - the ability to work effectively within the Aircom Dubai team structure is extremely important, as well as other Aircom offices in UK and S.A.
Technical - must be comfortable in the field of telecommunications, and be able to communicate well with customers and peers on technical issues.
Detail attention - must be able to understand technical issues with sufficient detail.
Sense of urgency - must be able to react quickly to customer requests.
Assertiveness - must keep the customer happy, but must not simply agree to doing everything requested.
Enjoy challenges - must enjoy meeting and overcoming challenges.
Willingness to travel on a global basis and the freedom of movementability to work throughout the MEA

Experience Required

General Customer Support
2-3 years in a technical software support role.
Experience in help desk and Service Request tracking tools.
Sense of urgency in sorting out issues raised by customers.
Technical Technical degree or diploma.
Basic GSM knowledge and experience (other mobile technologies will be an advantage).
Oracle DBA and SQL,Oracle PLSQL experience is essential,
IT networking experience.
Knowledge of ftp software is beneficial.
GSM radio planning and optimisation experience is a huge advantage.
Working knowledge of UNIX and WIN OS
Knowledge of telecommunication performance statistics and their application.
Customer Support
Technical product support (1st and 2nd line) to customers. Liaise with the customers on a regular basis. Logging and tracking of Service Requests (SR's).
