The incumbent of this position is considered an expert GE Controls Engineer with extensive experience in Mark V and Mark VI Controls. As a GE Controls Engineers the position requires undertaking or coordinating complex engineering work such as the following: 1- Plans, schedules and provides work direction as required for preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of all phases of very complex engineering problems. 2-Leads the activities of project proposal that include development of scope, functions, interrelationship, integration, physical solution definition, cost estimate, etc. Leads project execution for project proposal, initiatives, studies and continuous improvement of solutions and Problem solving related to system performance and life cycle. 3-Initiates detailed work outlines and makes decisions as to basic approaches, processes and/or equipment. Performs work and/or delegates work to other engineers for final development of specialized or technical proposals and proposed projects. 4-Recommends new installations, modifications, or migration of existing GE systems to improve existing facilities and standardization within broad fields of endeavor. Estimates costs, prepares justifications and completes expenditure requests as required. 5-Develops scope and description of technology items, and leads the implementation and operation of developed solutions in the field. 6-Brings all elements of a project together, makes certain that all elements proceed satisfactorily on schedule and within the money allowed; and initiates corrective action as required. Reviews cost estimates, recommendation from vendors, consultants, and licensors. 7-Support the development and formulates the basis for engineering studies in any of several basic or special engineering fields by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to problems. Evaluates data as to scope, effect on existing installations, economic value, and long range planning and budgetary considerations.
Selection Criteria
Ideal candidate should have at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 years of engineering experience as a GE Controls engineer on Mark V and Mark VI systems. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing, reviewing, troubleshooting, and implementing complex control philosophies for power plant and NGL plant operations. Candidate shall be well rounded and knowledgeable in instrumentation engineering package development, specifying and selecting instruments and their components required to measure and control a number of parameters, investigating and reporting instruments malfunctions, and providing other instrument engineering consultations to Operations & Maintenance. The candidate shall also be well rounded in vibration systems such as Bentley Nevada configuration, troubleshooting and design. The candidate's thorough knowledge and hands on experience in migration projects from Mark V to Mark VI is a mandatory requirement. In addition to the aforementioned the candidate shall be expected to have a strong analytical ability in problem solving, solid background in managing projects, willing to train others, and work experience with a multi-national workforce.
