Main Objectives
Assist CIO in managing the investment program by providing analysis and monitoring of assigned investment portfolios; providing research and analysis for investment selection, performance measurement and attribution relative to benchmarks;
Assist in implementing investment decisions by coordinating with investment managers and custodian bank;
Monitor investment structure and risks relative to established policies.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics or related field required
MBA and/or progress towards CFA charter preferred.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Minimum of 5 years of investment analysis experience related to externally managed global equity portfolios
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with computer based analytical tools
Team oriented and work cooperatively with others
Adaptability to changing demands and priorities
Proactive and self motivated
Main Responsibilities
Portfolio Monitoring - Analysis and monitoring of assigned portfolios relating to valuation, performance, characteristics and risk relative to benchmarks
Compliance - Monitoring portfolios for conformance with established investment guidelines and contract provisions
Reporting - Prepare reports on a routine basis with reference to area 1 & 2
Industry Knowledge - Maintain current knowledge of relevant investment markets by reviewing current research reports and publications and through contact with current and potential investment managers. Maintain knowledge current trends in investment markets and their impact on portfolios.
Investment Selection - Perform analysis, research and due-diligence on investment management firms and assist in conducting manager searches.
Risk Monitoring - Analyse aggregate characteristics and risk of asset classes and monitor portfolio structures relative to policy.
External Relationship Management - Coordinate activities of investment managers and custodian to ensure smooth operations and timely implementation of decisions and asset transfers etc.
Other - Perform other analytical and research assignments.
