Senior Account Executive in Public Relations

The Senior Account Executive manages his or her clients under the supervision of the Client lead by working on task oriented projects that require routine and standard information.

Through research, writing, and administration the Senior Account Executive supports the account team to serve the Client.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Write and distribute pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, prepared remarks, and standby statements.

2. Assists with administrative tasks such as preparation and distribution of publications.

3. Create and maintain media lists.

4. Handle routine media inquiries.

5. Monitor media to report coverage that affects the Client's business.

6. Handles basic research of Client's business and industry to maintain a current knowledge base.

7. Develop relationships with external audiences (media, third party constituencies, etc.) to convey the Client's message.

8. Under guidance of supervisor may coordinate specific events and promotions for the Client.

9. Assist in account administration duties such as billing and activity reports.

Skills Required:

1. Must be a good communicator both orally and in writing.

2. Must have good interpersonal skills.

3. Understands the principles of Perception Management.

4. Ability to work as member of a team.

5. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

6. Ability to organize and prioritize work under pressure.

7. Ability to work with detailed information.

8. Ability to work within a budget.

9. Skill in using office equipment (e.g. computers, fax).

10. Understands the principles of PR writing and has some experience to show.

Recommended Background:

1. 1-2 years experience.

2. College degree preferred.

3. Good theoretical and some practical understanding of the field of public relations.

4. Limited knowledge of client or practice area.
