Kaka 'demands 20% salary rise' to join Man City

During the football transfer window, Manchester City's Brazilian striker, Jo, went out on loan to Everton. His form at City had been indifferent if not poor, yet for Everton, he shows his true brilliance. During the mid-week showpiece international game between Italy and Brazil at the Emirates Stadium, the Manchester City duo, Robinho and Elano, were absolutely fantastic and showed real class. Their recent form for the club however has been disappointing - both before the international, and again today with City losing comprehensively to struggling and manager-less Portsmouth. There is of course one common denominator, and his name is Mark Hughes. These examples clearly show that he cannot get the best out of his players even when those players are truly world class, and under his managership, I fear City will continue to fare badly. Manchester City Football Club have a golden opportunity right now to replace Hughes - a man no self-respecting City supporter would ever really warm to anyway because of his connections with Manchester United - and hire one of the best and most knowledgeable managers in world football. Big Phil Scolari would be an ideal candidate to replace Hughes. His former club, Chelsea, are in turmoil and foment with unsettling problems that reach far beyond the control of either the managerial or playing staff, so Scolari's sudden departure from Chelsea should not be an impediment to his future success at another club. I have every confidence Scolari could turn City's lack-lustre performances around. I cannot say that about the present manager. Hughes has been given his chance and has been found wanting at every turn. Time to call it a day and get the club back on track and headed for the success they so richly deserve. Sad to say, Hughes just can't cut it. Even City's recent 'good' results had more than a little fortune about them. They sure weren't down to a good game plan - that much was clearly self-evident - and that just isn't good enough for the richest club in the world with aspirations to match.

Tad, I agree totally about Bellamy this is a short term buy which knowing his reputation will do nothing for the team. The blokes trouble so being a Red I'm happy to see him on his way to Eastlands, Kaka is obviously not happy about moving otherwise the deal would be done by now..! Hughesie will unfortunately be on his way come the summer to be replaced with some european manager.

I'm worried about City's 'Dragnet' approach to transfers. Hughes casts the net wide just to see who might be interested in joining us. That doesn't shout 'forward thinking' to me, but it DOES suggest that others really see us as a leaderless, unstable club in turmoil. Players SHOULD be queuing up to sign, but it seems Hughes hasn't got a plan or the personality to attract them. My big worry with Bellamy is that he'll upset an already fractious dressing room, and that will do nothing for team spirit, morale, or results.

Good on Kaka, i don't blame him for taking advantage of the situation. We would all ask for a rise if you thought you could get it, the moneys there, so why not ask. Its like all the landlords in dubai, they see a pot of gold(expats) and want to rob it as a quick and for as long as they can!!!!!! The Italian league are a bunch of divers anyway, the premiership is were it's at.
