KCA International stole the show at the inaugural Commercial Interior Design Awards on Sunday, picking up three awards including the evening’s top honour of Interior Design Firm of the Year.
KCA also scooped up the award for Best Corporate Space for its design of real estate firm Sama Dubai’s Lagoons Sales Centre, and for Best Restaurant Design for the Burj Al Arab hotel’s Asian-themed eatery Junsui.
Held at the Dubai’s Grosvenor House hotel, the Commercial Interior Design Awards recognise both regional and international design firms and individuals making the GCC one of the hottest places in the world to work.
The event honoured 12 winning projects and the talented design teams behind them.
LWDesign Group, which narrowly missing out on Interior Design Firm of the Year, won Best Hotel Design for its “Far east meets Middle East” design concept for Raffles Dubai.
Best Public Sector or Institutional Design went to Hamilton Design International for its bold “peacock eye” inspired design for Moorfields Eye Hospital in Dubai, while HBA received the award for Best Residential Design for the Trident Waterfront Tower in Dubai Marina.
In what is expected to be a hotly contested category in years to come, Goodwin Austen Johnson picked up the award for Environmentally Sustainable Design of the Year for its Ecos Hotels concept focusing on environmental and social responsibility.
