The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah arrived in Washington on Wednesday for official talks with US President Donald Trump.

Sheikh Sabah will meet the President at the Whitehouse on Thursday to discuss regional economic and security issues, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The Kuwaiti delegation included foreign minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah, interior minister Sheikh Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah, finance minister Anas Khaled Al Saleh, and National Guard deputy chairman Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, KUNA said.

Figures released earlier this week estimated Kuwait's sovereign wealth fund investments in the United States at more than $300 billion, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

According to the statistics, US companies are also well represented in several sectors in Kuwait, including oil and gas, defence and automotive areas.
