Dubai’s DIFC has its fair share of high-end business lunches and it takes something special to stand out.
Argentinian steakhouse Gaucho in the Gate Village, famed for its cowhide interior, lest you were to forget what’s on offer, is hoping to lure in more suits to its business lunch tables with its two and three course business lunches.
Gaucho, of course, is typically found close to the top of the list on Dubai’s long list of fine dining establishments, thanks to steaks that are consistently high quality, an excellent wine cellar and great service. Its business lunch menu doesn’t shy away from its raison d’etre with a succulent and tender 180g sirloin, the Bife de Ancho, top of the mains on the menu.
The steak is certainly on our list of recommendations, as does the Gaucho Burger, served with beef bacon chutney and chips. Also on the mains list are pesto linguini and a flash-grilled spicy rump.
The portions are not overwhelming, so starters is recommended, with beef empanadas our top pick. Our other tasty choice was avocado on toast, served on sourdough with guacamole.
Room for dessert was limited but we opted to try the chocolate chia pudding, which came with strawberries and almonds on top, and the fresh strawberries with dulce de leche cream. Both were nice, but would have preferred the previous month’s pineapple carpaccio or chocolate pot served with blueberries.
