Irish dance troupe Lord of Dance will be put on four performances in Abu Dhabi in June, the shows’ organiser said on Thursday.

“Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) will host four performances of Irish dance spectacular ‘Lord of Dance’ at Abu Dhabi Hall on June 23rd, 24th and 25th,” a statement from ADNEC said.

Michael Flately, once the star of the famous show – which sees over 40 performers interpret famous Irish legends through the medium of dance – will not be coming to the UAE’s capital, an ADNEC spokeswoman told Arabian Business.

Ticket prices for the shows will range from AED295 to AED795.

Lord of Dance shows are believed to have been watched by over a hundred million people around the world since they began in 1996.

“The incredible success of Lord of Dance is due to its timeless and universal appeal. Based on Irish folklore, this classic tale of Good vs Evil is expressed through the universal language of dance… This remarkable musical performance leaves no soul untouched,” the statement said.
