US popstar Madonna’s concert in Abu Dhabi on June 3 sold out in just over an hour after tickets went on public sale today.

While tickets for the Yas Arena concert were available on pre-sale on Wednesday Feb 22 and Thursday Feb 23, tickets went on sale to the general public at noon today.

Priced from AED495, a source at promoters Flash Entertainment confirmed the event had completely sold out by 1pm.

“Madonna’s track record as a world class entertainer and touring artist speaks for itself. Her artistry, talent and creative productions get bigger and better with each tour and Madonna 2012 will be no exception,” Arthur Fogel, CEO Live Nation Entertainment Global Touring and Madonna tour promoter, said earlier this month when the concert was announced.

“We are thrilled to have her back on the road and know her fans feel the same,” he added.

The tour, her ninth to date, is to promote the 53 year-old singer’s 12th studio album MDNA. Part of her recent $40m three-album deal with Interscope Records, the album is due to be released on March 26 and is already the most downloaded on iTunes in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Canada, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Throughout her career, Madonna has sold over 300 million albums, has been awarded seven Grammy Awards and holds the record for the most successful tour by a solo artist in history.

The concert is hardly sold-out nor is it necessary to buy tickets from resellers at higher prices.

The official madonna website is STILL selling both VIP packages and other tickets on their websites at reasonable rates. Hardly sold out!

Arabian Bus could do a better job checking facts before posting such news about sell outs and causing a bunch of people to head to resellers to buy (what could possibly be) fake tickets to events.

Can anyone 100% confirm what the lowest ticket price was? This article says AED 495 (which is what I thought) but I have seen many others reports saying AED 250.

Thanks Rahul, that was exactly my experience - including the AED 12 "Convenience Charge" for having the tickets e-mailed to me!

The tickets which were available for AED 250 were very limited in no. so it was sold-out in a flash! AED 495 is the minimum price for which a General Admission ( Standing) ticket is available for. However, the total cost of the ticket from the official website Ticketmaster , came to AED 537 PP
