Yes indeed a six year wait for a pre-purchased property does not exactly fly by.
Whilst on the subject of stalled developments about to burst into life, does anybody have any idea as to exactly what is happening at Jumeirah Golf Estates; specifically, the cabling infrastructure between the sub-station and the various secondary developers' communities? The last word, was that 2nd-tier developers would now have to provide this, as in foot the bill in order to get power transported from the sub-station to properties.
Some of these villas have been ready for owners, all bar utilities, since December 2009/ first-quarter 2010, the last 'transparent' update on one developers website is dated 'summer 2012', which quotes an expectation of being in a position to handover Q4 of this year or 1st-quarter 2013. However, that was prior to the final-stage power supply allegation and Q4 is over.
This will be a 4 year wait come January 2013, plus they were bought at prices rising from AED 6m each!
