Dubai Marina is the most searched for area in the emirate according to Propertyfinder Trends, one of the largest property portals in the UAE.
The Palm and Downtown are number two and three, respectively, while more mid-range areas like Sports City, JVC, and Silicon Oasis also make the list.
Burj Khalifa, the centrepiece of Downtown, is the most searched for tower, followed by Princess Tower, Ocean Heights, Elite Residence and Cayan Towers, all of which are located in Dubai Marina.
In Abu Dhabi, Al Reem Island was the most searched for area, with the ten top spots for buildings all located on the island, according to Propertyfinder.
Khalifa City and Al Raha Beach were number two and three on the list. More affordable areas like Mohammed Bin Zayed City also made the top ten areas.
The report reveals the enduring popularity of Dubai Marina where rents have softened considerably in recent years. According to data from Bayut, the average asking price for a one-bed apartment in March was AED88,000, down from an average of AED95,000 in 2017.
The average price of a one-bedroom apartment on Al Reem Island was AED82,000 in 2017, a 13.6% reduction on 2016.
