Nissan has confirmed in a statement that there are 32,147 vehicles in the Middle East potentially affected by a fuel gauge inaccuracy and another 15,670 affected by faulty brake pedal pins.

The Japanese automaker said that the 2008 and 2010 Nissan Titan, Armada and Infiniti QX56, and the 2008-2009 Nissan Quest, are potentially affected by faulty brake pedal pins.

The statement also said that vehicles with high mileage levels may have fuel gauges which incorrectly indicate the amount of fuel in the vehicle’s tank.

Nissan said in the statement that repairs for incorrect brake pedal pins and correction of fuel gauge inaccuracies will begin immediately. Customers are encouraged to call the carmaker’s regional call centre for clarification and assistance.

"We are asking customers with potentially affected vehicles to bring them to a Nissan dealership for a quick, simple, visual inspection and, if necessary, repair," the company said.

The statement comes days after Nissan announced a global recall of around 540,000 vehicles, and follows the recall of more than 8 million cars by Toyota Motor Corp.

Toyota and others knew they were having issues and attempted to hide it. All Car Companies should have came forward with a full disclosures of what car were dangerous. Instead of waiting for a huge media blitz and tons of public pressure. I never seen so many car companies GM - NISSAN - TOYOTA - HYUNDAI having recalls all at the same time. I had no idea my car was affected until I looked on http://www.carpedalrecall.com and found I had a bad Anti Lock control unit on my 2008 Pontiac G8 , my co workers Ford Truck had a recall also. So be careful

Look around you, the vast majority of cars older than 15 years are asian ones. That tells you something about their quality. Also, the parts in question in regards to these recalls are often made in the US. last but not least, GM has indeed announced a 1.3 million car recall just a few days ago.

Finally, the truth is surfacing. I have said for years that Japanese and Korean cars are just not up to scratch. People in the Middle East have always favoured Asian cars, mainly for being cheap. But in the end you get what you pay for. Stick to European cars, as you can't trust the Yanks either.

It is interesting to see other car makers following Toyota in admitting on problems that were not really entertained much earlier. This is good for consumers safety... I wonder who is next now in withdrawing cars- GM?
