Hong Kong’s Housing Authority is to set up a working group to monitor improved measures to secure and monitor construction workers’ salary payments.

Earlier this year, the authority introduced six improvement measures to incorporate into building contracts and associated subcontracts to prevent cases of wages in arrears and disputes.

In September, the measures were extended to demolition contracts.

The working group members will include representatives from the Housing and Labour Department as official members, and representatives from the Independent Commission Against Corruption, Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Authority and the Environment, Transport and Works Bureau as ad-hoc members.
