Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced plans to temporarily suspend flights to and from Abu Dhabi effective from July 8 this year until further notice.

The temporary cancellation of the service, which operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, is being carried out as PAL undertakes route assessment initiatives, the airline said in a statement posted on its website.

PAL said it is seeking the "kind understanding of affected passengers" as the airline implements these operational adjustments.

Holders of PAL Manila - Abu Dhabi - Manila tickets dated July 8 can either re-book on a flight to Dubai and be transported by PAL on a bus or can be refunded the cost of their tickets, the airline added.

Affected passengers are advised to avail of any of these options within 30 days from original flight dates, with rebooking/refunding charges waived.

The airline said it will inform the public once the service resumes.
