Kuwait celebrates independence day

Kuwaitis have celebrated their countrys 53rd National Day, and 23 Liberation Day with a huge parade through the capital. The oil-rich Gulf emirate's National Day commemorates the creation of Kuwait as a nation in 1961, while Liberation Day marks the end of Iraq's occupation in 1991.
