Miss India Worldwide crowned in Abu Dhabi
More than twenty-five beauty queens participated in the pageant held at the Emirates Palace Hotel
Ankita Cheryl Ghazan beat 25 other contestants to win the Miss India Worldwide beauty pageant. The first runner-up was Miss India USA Natasha Arora, followed closely by Miss India Trinidad Anuradha Devika Priya
The UAE capital played host to the final of Miss India Worldwide beauty pageant, marking the event’s debut in the Middle East

Gulf countries were also represented among the competitors, with the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman submitting entrants

Each entrant received training in grooming, diction and elocution with the overall winner receiving a prize package, including $9,000 in cash and a number of annual modeling contracts
The girls, each national representative of their respective countries had 5 days of a full on schedule which included official engagements, cocktails, public appearances, brief tour of Dubai attractions which included a Safari
Indian ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas was among the esteemed panel of judges for the event
In 2009, the UAE capital was a stopping-off point for 110 entrants in the Miss World competition, before the final leg of the competition in South Africa
The event will be held in Suriname next year
The contestants also got a chance to display their talent at the event
