\nBulgari's minute repeater is the perfect embodiment of the 'less is more' approach to design. The logo is discrete, as are the black matt stylings. Under the hood, however, it's a different story. Bulgari has packed an awful lot into a case just 6.85mm thick.

\nBremont secured the timekeeping role for the America's Cup this year and presented new models featuring its regatta timer complication. This being Bremont, a piece of carbon-fibre from the past winner is embedded in the crown of each watch.

\nRessence makes watches with dials that are mystifying, optical illusions. Thanks to its Orbital Convex system, it appears that all the hands and indices 'float' above the dial face. Now they've applied that technology to the titanium Type 5, created to be legible underwater.

\nThe watch sounds like something out of Game of Thrones, but the brand has become the darling of ultra-wealth heavy metal guitarists, Goths and others who favour the skull motif. Previous efforts have used oversized cases, but the new petite range makes the form suitable for smaller wrists.
