The UAE’s Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has launched a roadshow to help businesses who have yet to register with the authorities to pay value-added tax (VAT) and take advantage of the exemption given by the FTA until April 30.

In a statement, the FTA announced that the new initiative will run until April 24 in collaboration with economic departments and municipalities in all seven emirates.

As part of the roadshow, FTA tax experts, analysts and representatives of the tax registration apartment will hold seminars and workshops to introduce taxable businesses to the three-step registration process, which can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes.

According to the FTA, the roadshow will also serve to help the FTA identify obstacles that were faced by businesses during the registration process.

The tour began with an event in Abu Dhabi on April 15, followed by Dubai on April 16. The event will also include two events with the Ajman Department of Economic Development (DED) on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by Sharjah on Thursday April 19, Umm Al Quwain on April 22 and 23 and finally at Fujairah Municipality on April 24.
