Superstar Mariah Carey, named the best-selling female pop artist of the millennium by the World Music Awards, will perform an exclusive evening's length concert at Festival City in Dubai on May 15 it was announced today by Midas Promotions, in association with On Golden Ponds Pictures multimedia entertainment company.
Mariah's one night only engagement in Dubai marks the pop culture icon's first full-length performance since her sold-out "Adventures of Mimi" tour in 2006 and is the artist's first concert extravaganza since surpassing Elvis Presley's record for most #1 singles by a solo artist.
Mariah will premiere concert versions of new songs from her latest chart-topping album, "E=MC2." Released on April 15, 2008, "E=MC2" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and the United World chart. The album has already reached Top 10 or better in more than a dozen countries around the world.
Five-time Grammy winner Mariah, backed by her live band, will perform smash hits, fan favorites and concert surprises from an unparalled record-breaking best-selling repertoire running from her 1990 debut to this week's international charts.
With worldwide album and singles sales totalling well over 150 million records, Mariah is the best-selling female artist in pop music history. She's had more #1 hits (18) than any solo artist and has spent more weeks at #1 than any artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.
