Hands down, our hands tend to give away our true age before our faces. Our hands are one of the most, if not "the" most exposed parts of our body and most of us tend to ignore them in our ever expanding regimes for anti-ageing.

People are now generally careful about using sunscreen on their faces but tend to neglect their hands, which are equally exposed to the sun. Hands are likely to age faster that the face due to excessive exposures not only to sun but all the other harsh elements found in our daily surroundings.

Ultraviolet exposure results in the development of dark sun spots and loss of collagen, giving the skin a creepy, dull appearance. Moreover hands also lose volume, leaving tendons and veins more pronounced, giving the hands a bony appearance. On top of it all, harsh climates, chemicals, and poor nutrition can make our hands look double our age.

• Mesotherapy which consists of various cocktails of minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and nucleic acids,  is administered directly to the desired area beneath the surface of the skin.  Mesotherapy is used to stimulate the regeneration of the skin and enhance the production of collagen and elastin resulting in natural rejuvenation which no hand cream can compare to.

As for hand contouring, volume enhancement may be achieved by Calcium hydroxylapetite (Radiesse) that not only fills out the hands but also stimulates collagen production in the area injected.

Only topical anesthetic cream is required and the procedure takes barely 10 minutes. The Radiesse is injected just under the skin in five small boluses and massaged into the hand to fill out the hollows between the tendons.
