Adding significantly to its existing inventory of quality vehicles, Thrifty made a deal with OTE (the dealers of GM in Oman) for 150 new Chevrolet cars.

Thrifty's Chevrolet vehicle types now includes Aveo, Optra, Epica, Caprice & Tahoe. An event was organised to induct the 150 new Chevrolet cars to the Thrifty fleet. The keys were handed over by Mr Cyrus Vevaina, MD, OTE-Group to Mr. Murtadha Jaffer, Chairman and Managing Director, Al Haditha Group, in the presence of the GM Middle East delegation headed by Mr. Atef Tlili, Regional Fleet Manager, General Motors Middle East.

Mr. Murtadha Jaffer, Chairman and Managing Director, Al Haditha Group, the Thrifty Car Rental franchisee in Oman said, "At Thrifty, variety is the watchword and we remain committed to updating our car rental fleet to suit the needs of our customers. These vehicles were ordered after research indicated market demand for more quality vehicles in three key categories - Safety, luxury and comfort."

These characteristics combined with the efficient after-sales service from OTE, and its vast network of twenty service stations, will give Thrifty customers superlative customer service," added Mr.Atef Tlili, Regional Fleet Manager, General Motors Middle East.

The variety of cars include Tahoe, the world's best selling full size SUV, winner of the 2007 "Best 4X4", offering superb levels of comfort and luxury, comfortably seating up to 9 passengers. The Caprice stands out as one of the most spacious cars available in the Middle East, also incorporating the latest in advanced computer technology.

The Epica exceeds expectations when it comes to the safety and comfort of its occupants, with an array of outstanding safety options packaged in an environment that is comfortable and classy.

The Optra is a perfect blend of style and performance, a segment leader in rear legroom, and its safety features make this model particularly attractive as a car for all occasions. In addtion, the Aveo is stylish and spacious.

"Thrifty aims to maintain its number one position in the car rental industry, and we strongly believe that this investment in vehicles is yet another step in maintaining our leadership.
