Countries tackle opportunities and challenges at 6th High Level Seminar on Partnerships and Frameworks for Collaboration on eGovernment.

Dubai eGovernment has announced that it recently participated in the 6th High Level Seminar on Partnerships and Frameworks for Collaboration on eGovernment held in Tunisia. Organised by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the seminar provided a platform for OECD and Arab countries to discuss strategies for collaboration and partnerships in consolidating eGovernment initiatives.

As part of its commitment to the event, Dubai eGovernment conducted a presentation to share its knowledge, experience and best practices in providing IT-enabled services to the general public. In addition, Salem Al Shair, Dubai eGovernment Director for eServices, delivered a keynote address detailing the successful projects implemented by Dubai eGovernment and how these initiatives have delivered a positive impact on society.

"Dubai eGovernment has been a critical component in Dubai's transformation into a digital society. The public has been the biggest beneficiaries of our initiatives as online services have greatly helped increase the efficiency and productivity of citizens and residents. It was an honour to present all our successful initiatives during the seminar in Tunisia," said Salem Al Shair, Director of eServices, Dubai eGovernment.

Dubai eGovernment initiatives such as the eGovernment Contact Centre, Ask Dubai, the electronic payment service, ePay and the online hosting service, eHost were among the model eServices that were presented during the seminar. Dubai eGovernment also discussed the various public-private sector partnerships it has initiated, which have eventually led to the creation of several cost-effective solutions in delivering innovative services to the public.

"Dubai eGovernment has also benefited significantly from the seminar through high-level networking activities with executives from other top-performing eGovernment initiatives. Our discussions helped us identify various potential areas for collaboration, while we were also able to analyse the challenges we all are facing in our common mission to create a digitally competent society," concluded Al Shair.

The seminar, which gathered representatives from the Middle East, Europe, USA and Asia, was divided into four sessions. The first session identified and discussed the different forms of collaborative arrangements and their eGovernment areas of application; sessions two and three discussed partnerships with the private sector in eGovernment; while session four took a look at approaches and models of collaboration among government organisations and the role of eGovernment coordinators in promoting collaborative arrangements on eGovernment.
