The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently held a training course for security officials to empower them to provide better services, and gain extra edge in interaction with RTA customers & visitors.

It was revealed by Abdullah Al-Madani, CEO of RTA Corporate Support Services Sector, that holding this training course for security officials comes in the context of RTA efforts to promote and upgrade the competency & skills of security officers deployed at various RTA sites & premises; a step which would ultimately contribute to improving the quality of services offered to RTA customers.

“The purpose of providing such training is to upgrade the calibre of security services and bring them in line with the profile of the RTA. The course also intends to create an atmosphere of effective interaction with customers, and improve the handling of complaints & critical situations in a bid to gain satisfaction of RTA clients & visitors.

“The course, which lasted for two weeks, included on-site field training programs & lectures coordinated between RTA Administrative Services & HR Departments. Administrative Control Section, in collaboration with Trans Guard Co., despatched a number of RTA instructors to provide field training & deliver lectures on security skills required for dealing with RTA visitors & customers. The course was well received and proved very popular among participating security officials” added Al-Madani.

At the end of the course, the CEO of RTA Corporate Support Services Sector decorated the participants who competed for winning the 1st, 2nd and 3rd division titles, and awarded them with Certificates of Appreciation as well as gift items, while other participants went away with Certificates of Appreciation as well.

On other hand, the RTA issued 3000 health insurance cards to new drivers posted at RTA Public Transport Agency through the Administrative Services Dep’t at RTA's Corporate Support Services Sector; adding them to the umbrella of health insurance coverage provided by the RTA to its employees in association with Next Care Co.

“Through this system, RTA is seeking to provide a comprehensive insurance coverage to ensure the best health care service to employees and enhance their safety” said Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamadi, Director of RTA Administrative Services Dep’t. He added: “The system provides a psychological relief to employees through covering them, together with their family members, under an inclusive health care system. At the end of the day this will prompt medically insured employees to provide better services; which is a key policy objective sought by the RTA in dealing with all employees.

“RTA opted to introduce the extend health insurance coverage to all employees regardless of their job categories in a bid to realize the vision of Dubai Government i.e. to provide the best health service with a view to achieve health security. This will reflect favourably on employees & their families by making them feel secure and enabling them to lead a good life in the city of Dubai.

“RTA has completed the first phase of issuing health insurance cards to drivers, as half of the said cards have now been issued, and the remaining half will be issued over the next few days. A large percentage of RTA employees have already been covered and the list incorporates all employees regardless of their job category or age bracket.
“RTA will save no effort to provide every means that serves the interest of employees; a matter which underscores RTA efforts to provide health care services to all” said Al Hamadi in a concluding remark.
