Mazda Kiyora debuts at the Paris Motor Show
Press Release Content
Mazda Kiyora, a lightweight, next generation, urban compact concept car, was recently unveiled at the 2008 Paris International Motor Show.
Mazda Kiyora, meaning ‘clean and pure’ in Japanese represents the harmony between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features aspired in Mazda’s long-term technology development vision, “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom.”
The concept of “Kiyora” is based on a city car cutting cleanly through an urban landscape, with water as the design theme. Equipped with Mazda’s next generation 4 cylinder direct injection engine and featuring the company’s unique Smart Idle Stop System, the car achieves excellent fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The improved aerodynamic performance of Nagare design also contributes to this.
“The new Mazda concept car is based on an all-new platform designed to maximize weight reduction and a high level of safety, in pursuit of enhanced driving pleasure. It also features an interior design and new functions that support a youthful lifestyle. Mazda Kiyora is a small, friendly concept car designed to meet the needs of young urbanites and indicates the direction Mazda could take with a car this size in the future – especially in terms of technology,” says Annurag Chawla, Head of Marketing and Communications, Towell Auto Centre.
The car features components that are being developed at Mazda for use in the near future – like a next-generation 1.3-litre DISI* engine, a new automatic transmission, and a rigid and lightweight bodyshell for very high fuel efficiency and low emissions. Kiyora’s design supports these technologies with aesthetic features that are expressive of the water theme yet highly functional.
Towell Auto Centre provides quality service to all models of Mazda and makes owning a Mazda extra pleasant with its efficient after sales service and quick response time. A network of 9 service outlets and 10 parts outlets spread across the Sultanate supports customer service. It offers quick, efficient service with genuine parts available for all models and highly trained staff who pride in their quality of service.
