Prince Alwaleed receives Ambassador of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia to discuss philanthropic issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company received at his office Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Dya-eddin Bamakhrama.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmed Altobaishi, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman and Ms. Nahla Alanbar the Personal Assistant to HRH the Chairman.
The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him and relayed cordial regards from the President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh. The two also discussed philanthropic, economic and social issues.
Furthermore, the Ambassador briefed HRH with the drought situation in Djibouti and its affect on the overall economy. Ambassador Bamakhrama also presented Prince Alwaleed with Djibouti’s urgent need for powdered milk in its elementary school. In Response, the Prince instructed a team from Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation to do the necessary study and action.
In conclusion to the meeting, the Ambassador thanked HRH for his continuous contributions and support to their country. Moreover, Prince Alwaleed asked the ambassador to relay his regards to President Guelleh.
His Highness had visited Djibouti in 2004 and had also made a $500,000 humanitarian contribution to assist flood victims there. HRH's donation was to form the backbone of a new development to build a village comprising 400 homes housing those left homeless by the floods.
In appreciation of the Prince’s visit to Djibouti in 2004, the Djiboutian president decreed that Prince Alwaleed be awarded three of the country's top medals, Commander of the Order of the Grand Star Of Djibouti, Medallion of the Presidency of the Republic of Djibouti and the Medallion of the 20th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Djibouti.
