NBAD: Keen to attract & retain best talents

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), The Number One Bank in the UAE, honored 2235 years of banking experiences by hosting a ceremony to award 93 members of its veteran staff.
Eighty of the honored staff-members have been in the service of NBAD for 25 years, eleven of the honored completed 15 years of service while two veteran employees are honored for being in the service for 35 years, making their total working period in NBAD 2235 years.
Attended by senior management, NBAD’s annual long service awards distribution ceremony highlights and rewards those who committed their long-term working lives to the bank.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Michael Tomalin, NBAD’s Chief Executive, said: “people are the key asset of any banking business, and NBAD is no exception, is its people. Few companies these days can boast that almost 30% of their workforce has been with them for over 15 years”.
“NBAD is an exciting and challenging place to work. The opportunities for bright, intelligent individuals, who work hard and are committed, are huge as the bank is growing so fast in many different areas” Mr. Tomalin added.
“We are on a constant look-out to attract and retain the brightest and best talents, giving everyone the opportunity to maximise their potential. At NBAD, people will harvest what they cultivate - we will reward and encourage hard workers, innovators, and the committed ones but will not tolerate underperformers. This is to ensure that best products and services are delivered by the best banking professionals to our esteemed customers,” said Mr. Ehab Anis Hassan, NBAD’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
“As this event coincides with the 37th UAE National Day, I’m proud to say that NBAD’s success story mirrors the UAE growth; over the past four decades, NBAD has managed to be ahead of economic and social developments enabling UAE to be considered one of the top emerging economies within a very short period of time. The bank has also contributed in financing enormous projects in different economic sectors. NBAD is now one of the largest banks in the Middle East. It employs 3,000 people in from more than 50 nationalities and many multi talented, highly gifted and qualified people” he added.
“Quality and business excellence is intrinsically built in to our corporate culture. We believe in continuous improvement and effective deployment of the business excellence model in our everyday business, reinforcing the belief that quality is the role of all NBAD employees” Mr. Tomalin explained.
In regard to future employment focus, NBAD’s Chief Executive said: “One of our primary objectives is to attract, motivate, retain and develop UAE nationals to become leading professionals in the banking and finance industry.”
