Emirates NBD, the largest banking group in the Middle East in terms of assets has recently held its Annual Staff Gala Dinner and Wedding reception.

The ceremony was attended by over 7000 invitees. 214 UAE National and expatriate grooms and brides from the Emirates NBD’s members of staff celebrated their union at the wedding reception. The annual event which is gaining rapid popularity was held at the Airport Expo in Dubai.

During the event, H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Emirates NBD addressed the gathering and congratulated the grooms and brides for the happy occasion and thanked the UAE government for its proactive and continued support to the Banking Industry and said: "It is with a great sense of pride and pleasure, that I extend to you all, Greetings and Congratulations on this Happy Occasion. Recent months have seen the global economies impacted with an unprecedented downturn that the world hasn’t seen in 70 years. The banking sector is working closely with the government and the UAE Central Bank to withstand the challenges that the environment has posed and the sector is emerging stronger. This is a reiteration of the leadership position we hold in the Region. We are grateful to the Government of The UAE for its proactive and continued support to the Banking Industry and we remain dedicated to achieving the aspirations of the country."

It is worthy to mention that Emirates NBD’s Social Club has held its annual Staff Gala Dinner and Wedding reception for the past three years in a row as part of its corporate social responsibility programme, as Emirates NBD will provide financial assistance to the newly wed couples and will give them the chance to celebrate their union in a family atmosphere. The success of the previous ceremonies encouraged the Group to hold this event for the fourth year in a row.
