H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Emirates NBD recently received, Dr. Fouad Chaker, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks along with Mr. Wissam Fattouh, Deputy Secretary General, Union of Arab Banks.

Present at the meeting was Mr. Suleiman Al Mazroui, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Banks and General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Emirates NBD. The visit came in line with the tour of the Secretary General of UAB on the various financial institutions in the Arab region to discuss means of cooperation between the various banks to overcome the challenges imposed by the global financial crisis on the global markets.

H.E. Al Tayer lauded the efforts that the UAE Government and the UAE Central Bank are exerting to overcome the global financial and economic challenges and its implications on the region and said:” as the leading financial institution in the region, we would like to affirm our commitment to continue our efforts and cooperation with the various bodies from the public and private sector to support the National economy.”

H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer also welcomed the initiative of Mr. Fouad Chaker, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks to share knowledge and expertise between Arab financial institutions which allows the banking sector to continue supporting their National economies.
