The Emirates Bankers' Forum, which is Organised by Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, President, Emirates Bankers Forum received Mr. Christian Noyer, Governor of the Banque de France who is visiting the UAE as part of his tour in the region to discuss means of cooperation between France and the GCC region.

The meeting was attended by over 120 high profile executives from the local and international banks operating in the country in addition to a diplomatic mission from the French Embassy and members of the media.

Mr. Christian Noyer addressed the audience with a speech titled: "World Financial Crisis - Public and Private Strategies to overcome the crisis", which highlighted the joint efforts of the various bodies to identify the nature of the financial crisis, and the policies implemented to address it both from a public and a private sector perspective.

Following the speech, Mr. Noyer took part in a discussion with the audience about the strategy of the Sovereign Wealth Funds facing the crisis, strategies of the Paris Financial Market, Islamic Finance, Exchange Platforms and the development of durable finance.

Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui welcomed Mr. Noyer and said:" Emirates Bankers' Forum is gaining an increased popularity among the financial and economic circles in the country and the region. We are honored to receive Mr. Noyer who shared with us important information about tackling the challenges imposed by the global financial crisis."

The Emirates Bankers' Forum is a monthly meeting hosted by DIFC and represents an ideal platform for bankers to discuss latest market developments and exchange expertise which furthers the banking and finance industry.

About the UAE Banker's Forum

The UAE Bankers' Forum is a monthly gathering presided by Mr. Suleiman Al Mazroui, for the veterans of the local and regional banking and finance industry. The gathering has evolved over the years to become a forum which provides an excellent networking experience and an opportunity to exchange views and expertise.
