Etisalat hosted "METAMORPHOSIS 2009: Looking Inward, Outward and Forward” by Ram Charan, a renowned business consultant, speaker, and author of various popular books on business.

The event, which was held at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, covered the fields of the current global financial crisis and its effects internationally as well as on our regional market and industry. Moreover, it touched on the latest strategies in the business world and the internal operational strategies top companies are adapting during this crisis. The event was attended by Etisalat’s top management, as well as seven hundred of its senior staff and associates.

Metamorphosis 2009 started with Mr. Abdulaziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Resources Officer who presented the lowdown of the credit crunch on a positive note entitled “Outperforming Crisis”. It served as a powerful reminder of the reality surrounding the global financial crisis and its tangent on the telecom industry. He tackled on Etisalat’s internal processes which will limit the effects of the crisis and will ensure continued profit growth. Mr. Al Sawaleh also has presented a video on the economic crisis and how it started and the effect of it world wide.

Mr. Abdulaziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Recourses Officer, said "The economic crisis has taken the world by storm. It has affected people’s life, companies and countries. Therefore, it is a necessity that we all individuals and companies review our strategies, objectives, plans and the way we operate our business.

Next, Maryam Al Falahi, Director Career Development and Succession Planning, demonstrated the achievements of current development programs namely the Young Professional Programme, the Future Leaders Programme and the new initiative Etisalat Strategic Development Agenda. She also briefed the audience about the future plans on the succession planning process in Etisalat including the main phases of the project, the key drivers and its critical success factors.

This significant event celebrated another milestone with the graduation of Etisalat's talent pool, among them, the "Young Professionals Programme – Cohort 3", the “Future Leaders Programme – Professional Phase, Cohort 1” and the “Etisalat Strategic Development Agenda – Cohort 1”.

The scope of this event is to create a powerful networking and learning event between Etisalat and global leaders. This dual purpose has great impact in increasing the interest for continuous learning and improvements as well as changing the mindsets towards globalization strategies.
