Syrian Virtual University graduation ceremony marked by success
Press Release Content
On June 29, the Syrian Virtual University (SVU) held its graduation ceremony under the auspices of Dr. Najah Alattar, Vice President of Syria and President of the Board of Trustees of the University, and Dr. Ghiath Barakat, Minister of Higher Education. This year, the university’s graduates have obtained either Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diplomas, BITs, or Honours degrees from the University of Greenwich.
All three qualifications are delivered by SVU and are proof of the university’s commitment to providing its students with high-quality education which will prepare them for a challenging and fulfilling future.
“There is no doubt that SVU has implemented very impressive programmes.” said Mark Andrews, Edexcel’s MENA Regional Director. “During the six years that we have worked together, SVU has always made every effort to provide its learners with a rigorous, globally recognised education.”
During the graduation ceremony, as a testament to SVU’s exceptional standards, dedication, and noble endeavours in the field of education, Mr. Andrews presented Dr. Daoudi, the President of the University, with an “Edexcel Centre of Excellence Certificate”.
Dr. Daoudi expressed his pleasure at receiving the certificate and pledged SVU’s continued commitment to quality education, which is the result of rigorous quality control procedures set up by Edexcel and undertaken by SVU.
SVU first partnered with Edexcel in 2003 to provide its students with exclusive BTEC qualifications. BTECs are work-related qualifications which have been created in collaboration with governments, employers, professional organisations, and training providers. As such they are recognised world-wide and provide learners with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours necessary to meet the local and international requirements of an increasingly competitive global workplace.
Recently, through its partnership with Edexcel, SVU began offering the University of Greenwich’s Honours degrees to individuals who had obtained Edexcel’s BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business Applications and Computing and progressed to BTEC Professional Diplomas in one of the following disciplines: Computing, Business Information Technology, or Business Administration and Management.
